FishLens AI ("FishLens," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, and password (or sign-in credentials) when you create an account.
• Photos and camera data: photos you take or upload for fish identification. These are processed to identify species and, if you choose to save a catch, stored in your personal collection.
• Location data: if you grant permission, we use your location to tag catches, show nearby fishing spots, and provide local weather, tide, and solunar information. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
• Catch and trip data: species, weight, length, technique, rod, bait, weather, trip plans, gear inventory, and any notes you enter.
• Community content: photos, captions, and comments you choose to share to the community feed.
• Usage and device data: app interactions, crash logs, and device information, used to improve reliability and performance.
• Payment information: if you subscribe to FishLens Unlimited, payment is processed by Apple through the App Store; we do not receive or store your card details.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide fish identification, collection tracking, trip planning, and community features.
• To personalize weather, tide, and bite-window information for your location.
• To enable optional integrations you connect, such as Google Calendar sync for trip reminders.
• To communicate with you about your account, trips, or expert verification requests.
• To maintain and improve the app's performance and security.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service providers who help us operate the app (e.g., cloud hosting, AI identification processing, analytics), under confidentiality obligations.
• Other users, only for content you explicitly choose to share to the community feed or expert verification queue.
• Third-party services you choose to connect (e.g., Google Calendar), subject to that provider's own privacy policy.
• Law enforcement or regulators, only when required by law.

Your Choices

• You can edit or delete your catch data, gear, and trips at any time within the app.
• You can export your data from Account settings ("Export my data").
• You can delete your account from Account settings; this permanently removes your profile and personal data, except where we're required to retain it for legal reasons.
• You can disable location and camera permissions at any time in your device settings; some features will be limited as a result.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app's features. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

Children's Privacy

FishLens AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
